Quick Donut Holes

These quick and easy donut holes are an elegant upgrade to donuts.

Ingredients

2 cups Pamela's Baking & Pancake Mix
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup canola oil
1 egg

Directions

Yield: about 24 donut holes

Combine Pamela's Baking & Pancake Mix and spice. Mix buttermilk with oil and egg and pour into dry ingredients. Mix well.

In a fry pan heat oil until hot. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls into hot oil and fry for 3 to 5 minutes or until balls puff and turn golden. Drain on paper towels. Roll in cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar. Best served warm.

Chef's notes: These donut holes sometimes flip themselves in the skillet, much to the delight of my grand kids.

I have even glazed them with a lemon glaze! I have made hundreds of these and can't go to my friends and relatives without taking Pamela's mix with me to make these donut holes. The kids love to help me shake the donut holes in a zip lock bag full of cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar.
