Egg-free Bread

Egg-free Bread

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 bag (3-1/2 cups) Pamela's Bread Mix
  • 2-1/4 tsp yeast (packet enclosed in 19 oz mix bag only)
  • prepared egg replacer equal to 3 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup oil (canola, vegetable, olive oil)

DIRECTIONS:

Use a HEAVY DUTY STAND MIXER with whisk attachment. Do not use bread maker. Prepare egg replacer in separate container. Combine all ingredients together and mix for 3 minutes on med/high. Pour dough into 8” x 4” greased pan and let rest for one hour. Dough will rise when baking. Preheat oven to 350º. Bake for 65-70 minutes.

Variations:

Cheese Bread: Add 2 cups fine shredded cheese, 2 tablespoons melted butter (Optional add 1/4 cup chopped green onions or jalapeño peppers).

Herb Bread: Add 2 tsp Italian herbs, and 1/2 tsp onion powder.

Three Seed Bread: Add 2 tsp sesame seeds, 2 tbsp sunflower seeds, and 1 tbsp poppy seeds.

Croutons/Stuffing: Cut slices of bread into small squares and bake on a cookie sheet for 2 hours in a 200° oven. Cut larger pieces to make toasts for appetizers. Or in a skillet, brown bread squares in butter or olive oil for salad croutons.

Hi, is there any way i use made this egg free bread with a bread maker? Thx

    • Pamelas Customer Service July 27, 2015 at 4:14 pm #

      Hi Priscilla,
The problem with making egg-free bread in the bread machine is that most bread machines will not bake long enough. You can try this recipe in a bread machine on a longer bake time (around 70 minutes) if your machine will allow.

Yes, you can use Ener-G egg replacer or flax seed or chia seed egg replacers.

I found this recipe you have posted here, but it is slightly different than the one you have on the back of the gluten-free non dairy bread mix. Which one should I use? or does it matter? I am referring to the oven baking recipe.

      Hi Marfa,
This recipe is the same as on the bag. This is for the Egg-Free Bread recipe. The recipe with eggs is here: Amazing Bread

Thank you so much for clarifying. I made the egg-free bread and it turned out delicious! I will definitely be making it again and will also try the recipe with eggs!

Can you use the Artisian blend for this bread?

    • Pamelas Customer Service August 9, 2017 at 5:32 pm #

      Hi Cheryl,
This recipe was formulated only for the Bread Mix. We have a bread recipe for Artisan, but it has not been tested with egg replacer.

Can this recipe be used using any kind of gluten free flour brand?

    • Pamelas Customer Service September 25, 2017 at 8:50 am #

      Hi Cathy,
We don’t test other brands. We believe our Bread Mix to be very unique so it would be difficult to substitute.

    • Pamelas Customer Service November 26, 2017 at 8:30 am #

      Hi Hannah,
The internal temperature should be 200 degrees.

My daughter really liked this gluten and egg free bread!! This has been the only mix that has worked for her that does not have eggs, corn or potato. I made it with 3 Chia seed “eggs” and it works beautifully! I also made croutons on the stove top and they turned out great! I will for sure recommend this product. Thanks so much!

Is the garbonzo bean juice 1/2 cup per egg or it replaced eggs entirely?

We make this with flax meal eggs (3 tbsp flax meal mixed with about 9 tbsp water and let it sit) and we use olive oil for the oil and it is delicious!!! we let the yeast dissolve in the warm water (110-115 degrees F) and put in a little honey before mixing the rest of the ingredients in. We usually make one loaf and one roll (there’s a little too much dough for the loaf pan). So delicious!!!
