My mother has always been like June Cleaver. For those of you too young to understand who that is, "Leave it to Beaver" was a black and white television show I watched when I was growing up. There was a mom (June) who greeted her kids after school with cookies, and her husband at the door with a peck on the cheek. My mom made me perfect peanut butter sandwiches, and she tied the perfect bow on my little girl dresses. She demanded we eat something before we went off to school, combed our hair before we walked out the door after handing us our homemade lunches, and had dinner on the table at 6:00 every night. As adults, she was always there for us with good advice about recipes, relationships and table manners. Because of my mom, I write thank you notes. She is the woman I can only hope to be. This past week, it was particularly wonderful to spend a week in New York with mom and my sister. At 87, my mother's desire to experience life is still going strong. She's a little slower now, walking with a cane, and we have a portable wheel chair to push her in when she tires. But sitting at a table in various restaurants, my mom remains fun, knowledgeable, interested, lively and game to try anything. She is my mom, my friend, my theater date, my food partner as we peruse menus and taste and comment on each bite. I cherish each of these moments, adding to the long line of "mom" memories that I hope continue for many more years. Happy Mother's Day to all!

Celiac Awareness Month
May is Celiac Awareness Month. As a gluten-free company and proud supporter of national and regional non-profit Celiac Disease support organizations, we strive to do our part to raise awareness about this serious genetic autoimmune disease that damages the villi of the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food.

Two of the major organizations that promote awareness of celiac disease and gluten intolerance, the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) and the Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF), have just announced a partnership that will improve the health and well-being of the celiac disease and gluten-free communities. What do you do at Pamela's Products and how long have you worked here? I am an Accounts Payable Specialist in the accounting department at Pamela's. I also work closely with other departments to ensure smooth processing of payments. I have been with Pamela's for 7 years.

What is your favorite aspect of your job here? I love numbers, I know I'm crazy like that! I enjoy understanding how businesses work and my coworkers are fun to work with. We do our best to enjoy our work time at Pamela's, while still getting the job done.

Outside of work, what are your hobbies or interests? I love to travel, play soccer, disc golf and hang out with friends & family.
