Ah, the month of March. It's the green month, full of green clovers and even green beer. I can't think green without thinking Irish, of which I am a wee bit on my mother's side. A pot pie always comes to mind and now with the brew pub trend happening in my neighborhood, cooking with beer or ale is also on the rise. There is a deeper and richer note when adding beer to a recipe. I've read about cooking chicken with a can of beer inside, baking bread with beer, making stew with beer, so why not add it to the filling of a savory meat pie or even a chocolate cake? There are many gluten-free beers on the market now, so you too can indulge in this tradition. Try our new gluten-free beer-infused recipes, or use my flaky, buttery pie crust recipe or croissant recipe to top a ramekin of your own meat pot pie filling. It's a fast and easy way to do it!
