I love the holidays! It doesn't snow where my family and I live in northern California, so this year I thought it would be fun for us to drive a few hours to the mountains of Lake Tahoe to enjoy a White Christmas. Being away from my own kitchen means that I have to plan ahead for any special holiday foods that I will make. Two staples that I always bring with me are my Baking & Pancake Mix to make a variety of breakfast foods and biscuits, and my All-Purpose Flour Artisan Blend to use for gravies or browning meat, and for cookies and pies.

Speaking of pies, I hope you enjoyed my first Facebook Live video as much as I did! The video showing you how easy it is to make gluten-free pie crusts is now available to view on our website. Use the techniques shown in the video with our new holiday pie recipes, and you will be all set to impress this holiday season! Be sure to tune in to my next live video this month when I show you how to make gluten-free dinner rolls (yes, it's easy!). Happy Holidays!

Swap 'Til You Drop
Cookie swap parties are a fun way for people to taste and trade cookies, and then take home assortments for gift-giving. This year, bring gluten-free cookies to the exchange, or better yet, host an entirely gluten-free cookie swap party! Choose from our holiday cookie recipes or create your own traditional favorites using our flour blends (many of our customers have reported success substituting our All-Purpose Flour Artisan Blend for wheat flour in their cookie baking).

Cookie Swap Basics:
1. Invite guests (8-10 friends) and ask each one to bake 6 dozen of the same cookie (no store-bought cookies, please!), and to provide copies of the recipe and take-home containers to bring on the day of the party.

2. Before the party, set out platters and bowls to display the cookies that people will be collecting.

3. At the party, provide your guests with non-cookie appetizers and drinks while your guests choose cookies to nibble and to take home.

We hope you have fun baking this holiday season, and enjoy some cookies, too!

Tips from

When making a pie crust, roll the dough between two pieces of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Then, you can peel away the top layer of plastic or parchment, and flip to invert dough into the pie pan. Make sure your dough isn't too wet or will it stick to the plastic.
