'Tis the Season
The months of holiday planning and family get-togethers are here. I don’t know about you, but my house is very busy this time of year. With parties to attend and host, dinners to prepare for loved ones and plenty of shopping to be done, there is the feeling of excitement and purpose in the air.

Thanks to all who entered our 7th Annual Mix it Up Recipe Contest. We more than doubled the number of entries from previous years! Pamela and team are already in the kitchen cooking up some amazing desserts and entrees. Our Pamela's fans are some pretty impressive chefs.

In this issue we have some great recipes for you to make a beautifully delicious holiday meal completely gluten-free.

Thankful for Thanksgiving
Here are some fun facts for Thanksgiving.
  • In 1941, congress declared Thanksgiving a holiday and designated it to be the last Thursday of November
  • More than 40 million GREEN BEAN CASSEROLES are served over Thanksgiving
  • 91% of Americans eat turkey on Thanksgiving day
  • The largest PUMPKIN PIE ever baked was 12 feet in diameter and 2,020 pounds. The recipe required 900 pounds of pumpkin, 1,860 eggs, 300 pounds of sugar and 250 pounds of crust (Guinness World Records).
  • A quarter of a million people went to the First Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1924
  • A turkey can run up to 22mph and can fly as fast as 55mph
  • Turkeys sleep at night in trees
  • Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national bird
